Daylight & Sunlight
We advise on managing access to natural light, particularly in dense urban environments
Daylight and Sunlight matters are important design considerations, whether as part of the town planning decision making process, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or a Sustainability strategy. Achieving adequate daylight within change of use/ adaptive re-use projects is a common feasibility constraint.

We use cutting edge software to advise on achieving good natural light within new developments whilst retaining it for existing neighbours.
We pride ourselves on our knowledge of the UK town planning system, best practice guidance (e.g. BRE Guidelines 2022 and BS EN 17037:2019), global Sustainability rating systems (e.g. BREEAM, WELL, LEED etc) and the importance of balancing daylight performance with other competing design priorities such as glare, overheating and acoustics.
